In Memory of Kenneth David Karcher Jr.

Updated: Feb 18

Kenneth D. Karcher, Jr., affectionately known as Kenny, of Maple Shade, passed away unexpectedly in a work accident on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the age of 25. Born in Voorhees, N.J., Kenny was the beloved son of Sharon (née Buss) and Kenneth Karcher, Sr. He was raised in Maple Shade, where he became an accomplished athlete at Maple Shade High School, graduating in 2017. Kenny excelled in track and field, holding multiple school records to this day, including the 400 IM hurdles, a record he broke that had been held by his father for 33 years. That same year, he claimed three state championships in track and field.

Kenny was a dedicated Foreman at Booth Mechanical in Maple Shade, where he truly loved his work. Outside of his job, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies- golfing, street hockey, traveling, fishing, a good cigar, and watching John Wayne movies. He had a remarkable group of friends and was known for his lively personality and taste for the lavish lifestyle. Kenny’s mischievous grin, sparkling blue eyes, and zest for life left an unforgettable impression. Though small in stature, he had a huge personality and was the best rock skipper around- just ask his dad. To his mother, he was everything- she was his chauffeur, cook, maid, and best friend. He will forever be remembered as a devoted son, brother, grandson, nephew, Godson, cousin, and friend to many.

Although his time here was tragically brief, Kenny leaves behind a legacy of generosity through organ donation.

Kenny is the beloved son of Sharon Karcher (Keith) and Kenneth Karcher, Sr. (Carolyn); the cherished brother of Mackenzie Karcher (Nick); and the treasured bonus sibling of Ryan and Anamarie Bergman (Tom). He was the loving grandson of Patricia (the late Albert) Buss, and Edward and Joan Karcher, and a dear Godson to Megan Herrmann. He will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, many good friends, and his faithful dogs, Duke, Olea, and Kash.
